It's Fall

I created a painting that I have been trying to create for some time.  The light is in the background.  This is somewhat a modern painting in that it moves from the traditional blue background.  Instead the background is filled with brightly colored fall trees: vibrant red and yellows.  I was delighted with my earlier painting, The Green Yard, because yellow light was in the background and grey was in the foreground.  I continued painting and looked down and found that the background was lighter and with a few changes created a similar but more advanced painting to my earlier work.  Color theory fascinates me.  In this picture, the viewer may stand right next to the red shed door.  It's Fall measures 12 x 16.

Hill Quote

I found a quote about making quality artwork. In this case, Adrian Hill is talking about trees. He writes, “a tree is painted to…express his [the artist] appreciation for it,” He wrote a book, On Drawing and Painting Trees. People often paint things, seeing they are beautiful and decide to depict that beauty. This photo is from Amazon.
