The Swamp

The Swamp depicts an Indiana wetland that somehow remains in the heart of Indianapolis.  It was raining.  I was sinking into the mud, stepping from rock to rock, and balancing an umbrella.  Rain complements the wetlands, turning it into perfect swamp.  I’ve spent a lot of time here.  This time moss seemed to grow on the water, and the rain created patterns on it.  The Swamp is an acrylic painting, measuring 20” by 12.”  Contact marnismith922@gmail.com for details.

The Tomato Plant

This depicts a tomato plant, growing in my backyard.  I used the red tomatoes to create an artistic triangle.  I love using color to create a beautiful composition.  It is acrylic, measuring 11" x 14."
I painted these roses in around an hour.  I always wanted to paint a rose.

Hill Quote

I found a quote about making quality artwork. In this case, Adrian Hill is talking about trees. He writes, “a tree is painted to…express his [the artist] appreciation for it,” He wrote a book, On Drawing and Painting Trees. People often paint things, seeing they are beautiful and decide to depict that beauty. This photo is from Amazon.
